In Graph 1, the top 30 phrase segments related to the signs and symptoms of drug and alcohol abuse are listed. The four segments that contain the word “cocaine” in reference to the symptoms and signs of cocaine abuse total 46,740 searches.

This astonishing number is more than any other specific drug queries in this study, reflecting a growing societal issue of cocaine addiction and related cocaine problems. The popularity and availability of crack cocaine, crimes related to cocaine abuse and accidental cocaine overdose deaths are important aspects of this issue.
